Spirit is a payment and financial management platform for small businesses in New Caledonia. The platform’s purpose is to provide an integrated system of payments, invoicing, and business management tools, empowering entrepreneurs to handle their operations smoothly and independently.

The Challenge

Spirit was born as a highly technological product — a robust fintech platform packed with advanced tools for payments and business management.
However, its main audience — small business owners in New Caledonia — operated in a market where digital solutions were still emerging.

The challenge was to build a product that felt both innovative and approachable: technologically solid yet emotionally close.
The founders, being locals themselves, deeply understood the island’s context and values, which became the foundation for a brand that balances cutting-edge functionality with cultural authenticity and human warmth.

My Role

Developed the visual identity and UX/UI system of Spirit, connecting the platform’s functionality to its natural inspiration.

The Icon

The visual and interaction system was inspired by the movement and depth of the ocean.
Just as the sea has different layers, Spirit adapts to different user journeys: beginners stay close to the surface with core functionalities, while advanced users can “dive deeper” into management and analytics tools.


The manta ray became the central brand symbol — a nod to local culture that represents fluidity, speed, and grace.

The result is a digital product that feels human, calm, and alive — reflecting how technology can support small businesses while staying true to their cultural environment.

Project completed in 2025, MVP launch planned for 2026.
